We were very surprised by how quiet and non-congested Tucson was. Here are some pictures that I took when we did a self guided walk from the visitor centre, you just follow the painted line.... Driving East from the Organ Pipe Cactus Monument we had to go through a couple of border control stops, one of them was a bit nosey, but otherwise, all was good. We found the Tucson BLM campground just before town on Hwy 86, so we had lots of room around us at a great price. It is right near Tucson Mountain County Park and Old Tucson Studios and not far into town. Old Tucson On Sunday we decided to play tourists and see Old Tucson Studios. This is where a number of western movies were filmed with stars such as Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. It just happened to be reunion weekend where past employees came and dressed up for the occasion. They have a number of "shows" on the hour throughout the day and we watched a couple of them. Campground Review - Tuscon, AZ

Tucson BLM Campground San Joaquin Road, Tucson AZ Why we chose here? Close to Tucson Location:  San Joaquin Road, off Highway 86. West of Tucson. Sites: Nothing laid out, just pick a spot, preferably away from other people. Any size rig. Facilities: Nothing, dry camping Groceries: about 5 miles away Reservations: No Cell Coverage / WiFi: Good. Free wifi available at the library about 5 miles away Price Paid: $0 Date of visit: March 2015 Other: 14 day maximum stay at one time Would we come here again? Yes Spring flowers in March along the highway
